RUPCO'S MONTHLY NEWSLETTER | FEBRUARY 2021

                                      RUPCO TURNS 40!
Wow, forty years of hard work in affordable housing and community development - what a milestone! To commemorate, we invite YOU to join us on Thursdays for a stroll down memory lane with our #RUPCO40ThrowBack social media campaign which will showcase some of the amazing work carried out during these four decades.

Formed in 1981 as Rural Ulster Preservation Company, and rebranded in 2013 as "RUPCO," our organization was created from a simple, singular program to provide preservation efforts in Ulster County. We have expanded our geographical reach and services through the years, but we have remained true to our original mission – to lead the creation of better communities for all.

SCAM ACTIVITY IS ON THE RISE
Housing scams are on the rise for homeowners and renters. Our partner, NeighborWorks America, is launching the national #StopHomeScams campaign with all the information you need to spot and avoid a scam that could cause you to lose your home.

COVID VACCINE CLINICS

RUPCO continues to host COVID vaccine clinics for our older residents at seven of our senior properties! Pictured is Woodstock Commons resident, Fred, receiving his vaccine while his wife, Marie, patiently waits for hers. Thank you to our friends at CVS Pharmacy and Wallgreens for providing this service!

RUPCO AWARDS GRANT TO ARTIST RESIDENT
Meet Ben Eichert, a photographer and one of the winners of our recent competition to support two Lace Mill artists with a grant of $1,000 for their artistic endeavors.  Ben said, "A dream of mine has always been to publish a book of my most meaningful photography along with my poetry. This grant will help me move forward with this dream. Thank you for this opportunity." Congrats and good luck, Ben!

We received 21 applications that were carefully considered by a volunteer panel of local artists, including Richard Frumess, Anne Bailey, Frank Waters, Lara Giordano and Adrielle Farr.

Big thank you to the National Equity Fund, whose generous contribution made this program possible.
