RUPCO IS RE-CELEBRATING COMMUNITY

We are getting so excited to see you on June 9, at the Senate Garage. While it has been two years since we last hosted our friends and supporters, our agency has been hard at work carrying out our mission of creating homes, supporting people and improving communities. LANDMARK PLACE RIBBON CUTTING EVENT TEMPORARILY POSTPONED

Due to unfortunate construction delays caused by COVID-19, RUPCO has decided that it is in the best interest of our guests' safety to postpone the Landmark Place ribbon cutting scheduled for May 31st.

We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to rescheduling and celebrating this milestone with you soon!

 

JOIN US FOR A PUBLIC MEETING FOR THE QUALITY INN HOUSING PROJECT

We would love to hear from you regarding the proposed conversion of the "Quality Inn" hotel located at 114 Rte 28, Town of Ulster.

We are looking to create a permanent affordable and supportive housing campus with approximately 81 apartments. 

Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 1st at 6:30pm at the Town of Ulster, Town Hall in Lake Katrine, NY. 

 

ULSTER SAVINGS BANK IS HELPING TO COLLECT DONATIONS

The Ulster Savings Bank Red Hook branch has chosen RUPCO for their May Community Matters Program. Branch manager, Melissa Morrison and her team, are collecting donations of new linens for us to assist those starting out in a new home, or new apartment, or those who have been homeless. Sheets, pillowcases and blankets are maybe items some of us take for granted, but provide all of us with a comfort to start a new day with a fresh outlook. To donate, visit any Ulster Savings branch and mention the Community Matters program.

 

FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYER FUNDING AVAILABLE IN ULSTER COUNTY

RUPCO has funding available to assist low-income first-time homebuyers in purchasing a home in Ulster County! There are two separate grants that can assist with down payment and closing costs and renovations. A RUPCO counselor will assist homebuyer in navigating homebuying process. Some exclusions apply. UPCOMING SHOWS AT THE LACE MILL

Lace Mill multi-media artist Zelda aka Judith Z. Miller is awarded an Arts Mid-Hudson "Jumpstart" grant to support performances of Que Será, Será: A Life’s Journey of Sexual Orientation & Gender Expression in Ulster County New York. See upcoming performances this June at The Rosendale Theatre and The Lace Mill.

 

APARTMENTS WITH SECTION 8 SUBSIDY AT BIRCHES AT CHAMBERS ARE AVAILABLE

Affordable housing opportunity for seniors! The Birches at Chambers has two vacant units that include a rental subsidy through Project-Based Vouchers. Located at 300 Maple Lane in Kingston, the Birches is a community for seniors 62+ that provides residents with a supportive community.

 

THE GREENE COUNTY SECTION 8 WAITLIST IS OPEN AND HAS NEW INCOME LIMITS

Looking for rental assistance in Greene County? You might qualify for the Section 8 Greene County program. The waitlist is currently open and accepting applicants. Applications must be submitted: By mail or hand-delivery to RUPCO, 175 Water Street, Catskill, NY 12414.

 

FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYER INFORMATION SESSION JUNE 15 AT 5:30PM

Ready to buy your first home but don’t know where to start? This virtual, First-time Homebuyer Information Session outlines the RUPCO's HomeOwnership Center’s Homebuyer Program and the path to homeownership.

ASSISTANCE FOR HOMEOWNERS AFFECTED BY HURRICANE IDA

New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) is providing grant funding to homeowners who suffered damage due to Hurricane Ida and who need to make emergency repairs in order to safely reoccupy their homes.

ADDITIONAL FREE COVID AT HOME TESTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE 

Good news! Each household in the U.S. can now order additional free COVID-19 at-home tests shipped directly to their home at no cost! 

The tests are rapid antigen "at-home" or "self" tests — not PCR tests which require a lab drop-off. The "at-home" or "self" tests can be taken anywhere and give results within 30 minutes.
